PowerPhotos 3.2.2 released, with bug fixes and one new feature

I’m happy to announce the release of PowerPhotos 3.2.2, which includes a handful of bug fixes along with one little new feature.

Moving Photos Between Albums

If you’ve ever wanted to reorganize your photos by moving them from one album to another, you’ve probably noticed that dragging photos in Photos (or PowerPhotos) copies them to the destination album rather than moving them. This means you’d have to go back to the source album afterward and manually remove the photos you just copied—an extra step that’s easy to forget.

PowerPhotos 3.2.2 adds support for moving photos between albums within the same library. Just hold down the command key while dragging photos from one album to another, and PowerPhotos will add them to the destination album and remove them from the source album in one step. This mirrors the same command-drag shortcut that’s already available for moving photos between different libraries

Other Improvements

This release also includes a few other improvements worth mentioning:

  • Clearer RAW export options: The export options for RAW photos have been renamed to be more descriptive. Instead of the generic “Export with metadata” label, you’ll now see the actual format that will be used, like “JPG with metadata”.
  • Better handling of missing files during export: If you try to export photos that are missing or incomplete, they’ll now be reported in a dedicated column in the export report, making it easier to see exactly which items couldn’t be exported.
  • Larger list view thumbnails: The maximum zoom size for thumbnails in list view has been increased, so you can see larger previews of your photos when browsing in that mode.

PowerPhotos 3.2.2 is a free update for all registered PowerPhotos 3 users. If you’re still using PowerPhotos 2 or earlier, upgrades to version 3 are available at a 50% discount. You can download the latest version from the PowerPhotos website, or use the “Check For Updates” menu item if you already have PowerPhotos installed.
