PowerPhotos 3.2.1 released
I’m happy to announce the release of PowerPhotos 3.2.1, which includes a number of bug fixes along with some nice quality-of-life improvements.
Inspector Enhancements
I’ve added a couple of handy features to the inspector pane. First, if a photo belongs to one or more albums, you’ll now see a small menu button next to the “Albums” field that brings up the same “Show in Album” menu currently accessible via the contextual menu, that lets you quickly jump to any album containing that photo.
Second, if a photo has location information, there’s now a button next to the “Place” field that will open the photo’s location directly in Apple Maps. And if Photos hasn’t yet looked up a place name for a photo’s coordinates, PowerPhotos will now show the latitude and longitude instead of leaving the field blank.
Menu and Keyboard Improvements
PowerPhotos 3.2.1 adds “Copy To” and “Move To” submenus to the Image menu in the main menu bar, the same as the ones available when you right-click photos or albums.
On the keyboard shortcut front, the grid view now properly supports the system control-return shortcut for displaying a contextual menu, and control-clicking in the photo viewer now shows the contextual menu more reliably.
Bug Fixes
This release fixes several bugs that users have reported:
- Fixed a crash that would occur after deleting photos while having either a folder or multiple albums selected
- Fixed a bug when exporting unmodified originals for videos where some videos would have modified versions exported instead
- Fixed a bug where videos could not be exported from an iPhoto or Aperture library
- Modifying the selection in list view with shift/command click no longer causes the list to scroll up to the first selected item every time
- Fixed an issue where sometimes thumbnails in list view would appear too large and overlap the title column
- Pressing the delete key in the main “Library” album no longer displays an error message about not being able to find an album
PowerPhotos 3.2.1 is a free update for all registered PowerPhotos 3 users. If you’re still using PowerPhotos 2, upgrades to version 3 are available for 50% off with your existing license key. You can download the latest version from the PowerPhotos website.
